Hello!

I am what you might call serving on the ground crew in the Boston/Cambridge area. I'm helping with a lot of miscellaneous tasks for the conference. Because I'm local, I can also help answer questions about the area, getting to and around the area, etc., etc.

With Gary Price, I will be teaching a workshop about doing research for Wikipedia and Wikimedia projects during Wikimania. On Saturday, August 5, I will leading a birds of a feather session for librarians/archivists/researchers/information professionals. I am also helping to organize some field trips, volunteers, and perhaps another session or two.

My next trick might be to begin organizing some of the Wikimania pages to make the site more user-friendly and to look for gaps in the information.

I've contributed to travel, getting to and around Cambridge, and field trips.

I am now the volunteer coordinator for the conference. I see my role more as someone connecting volunteers to tasks and others working on them than as a micromanager. Talk to me if you want to help out. Visit Volunteering for more info.
